Affiliate Disclaimer

At Gadgetry Today, we will occasionally use affiliate links. That’s a text or image link to the site of an affiliate partner. We receive a small percentage of any sales that result from clicking those links.

These links will add a cookie to your browser (unless you’ve blocked cookies) and that cookie will remain in your browser for a period of time predetermined by the affiliate.

This is our preferred method of monetization. It allows us to earn an income from this site without overwhelming you with spammy advertisements. It also allows us a good measure of editorial control over which products are promoted on our site. In short, affiliate ads ensure that the linked products you see are approved by us.

We want to be very transparent about this practice. Websites cost quite a bit to maintain, and we feel that affiliate ads are one of the least invasive methods of monetization.

You will never be charged anything for clicking on these links, and the items you’re clicking on won’t cost any more than usual. The agreement is purely between the affiliate and the web host.

If you’d rather not click on an affiliate link, you can do one of two things:

  1. You can turn off cookies on your browser. This isn’t highly recommended because it can diminish your experience on most websites. However, this will prevent the affiliate link from adding a cookie to your browser when you click on the link.
  2. You can simply go directly to the linked site and search for the item manually. This allows you to avoid having an affiliate cookie added to your browser.

That said, if you do decide to use these links know that you’re helping to support an independent website, and we appreciate that very much.

If you have any questions about the affiliates we partner with or how the process works, please feel free to reach out and we’ll try to answer them.
